Aug 13. Mahesh Bhatt’s upcoming film Sadak 2 has made quite the news before its OTT release. The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur. Being a sequel to the 1991 film, the movie had received limelight as it marked Mahesh Bhatt’s return on the director’s seat after two decades as well as his first collaboration with daughter Alia.
The trailer of the film had released yesterday. However, it has turned out to be the most disliked movie trailer on YouTube with 5.7 million downvotes given to the video. This has come especially amid the ongoing debate around nepotism.
After Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise, several reports had stated that the actor was banned by production houses. In fact, with reports on his mental health surfacing, fans of the late actor flooded the internet with tweets that it was due to nepotism which subsequently led him to die by suicide.
The YouTube video of Sadak 2 trailer has received over 18 million views, it had also got more than 3 lakh upvotes but 5.7 million downvotes. However, in the top 10 most disliked videos on YouTube, the film’s trailer takes the seventh spot.
The movie which was supposed to release earlier this year, will now release on Disney+ Hotstar on August 28. It is being produced by Mukesh Bhatt under their banner Vishesh Films. Both Sanjay Dutt and Pooja Bhatt are reprising their roles from the first film.
